This Privacy Policy outlines Kelso Men’s Shed practices with respect to information collected from users who access our website at, Members that have submitted an application form or otherwise also share personal information with us and our practice with regard to this information is also outlined below.

  • Request erasure of your personal information. Please note that if you request your personal information to be deleted, we will assume you no longer wish to be a member of kelso Men’s Shed.

  • Request to restrict processing of your personal information by us.

However, please note that these rights are not absolute and may be subject to our own legitimate interests and to regulatory requirements.

Retention periods will be determined by taking into account the type of information that is collected and the purpose for which it is collected, bearing in mind the requirements applicable to the situation and the need to destroy outdated, unused information at the earliest reasonable opportunity. Under applicable regulations, we will keep records containing personal data, communications and anything else as required by applicable laws and regulations. 

We may rectify, replenish or remove incomplete or inaccurate information, at any time and at our own discretion.

Collected Information

We collect two types of data and information from Users and Members. 

The first type of information is unidentified and non-identifiable information pertaining to (a) User(s), which may be made available or gathered via your use of the website (“Non-personal Information”). We are not aware of the identity of a User from which the non-personal Information was collected. Non-personal Information collected may include aggregated usage information and technical information transmitted by your device, including software and hardware information (e.g. the type of browser and operating system your device uses, language preference, access time, etc.) in order to enhance the functionality of our website. We may also collect information on your activity on the Site (e.g. pages viewed, online browsing, clicks, actions, etc.).

The second type of information is Personal Information , which is information that identifies an individual, or may with reasonable effort identify an individual. Such information includes:

  • Device Information: we collect Personal Information from your device. Such information includes geolocation data, IP address, unique identifiers (e.g. MAC address and UUID) and other information which relates to your activity throughout the websit. If you submit the contact us form on the website we collect your name, email and phone number as given by yourself. This will be used to complete any requests for information you may have made. It will not be used for any further purpose.
  • Application forms for members are submitted by prospective members on paper. Details on these forms are entered onto a secure database which cannot be accessed through the web site. The original, paper, application form is also retained. Application forms are not currently collected through our web site.

We receive your Personal Information from various sources:

  • When you voluntarily provide us with your personal details when applying to join the Shed, or submitting requests through the website;
  • When you use or access our Site in connection with your use of our services;
  • From third-party providers, services and public registers (for example, traffic analytics vendors).

We will not use your Personal Information such as your name, email address, telephone number, etc., ourselves (or by using any third-party) for the purpose of providing you with promotional materials except insofar as it relates to the Kelso Men’s Shed.

To respect your right to privacy, we provide you with the means to opt out of receiving further notifications from us and your details will be removed from any distribution list. To opt out of receiving emails, please send an email to kelsomensshed (at) indicating that you no longer want to receive emails.

You may also ask for your data to be removed from our electronic repository. If you ask for your electronic data to be removed we will assume that you do not wish to remain as a member of the Kelso Men’s Shed.

We do not rent, sell or share Users’ and Members’ information with third parties, except as described in this Privacy Policy.
