We are pleased to announce that we have received a grant for eBikes from the Energy Saving Trust. We are now in possession of 4 eBikes available for loan/trail for Shed members.

The bikes come in 3 sizes: extra small for people below 5 feet 5 inches, small for people from 5 feet five to 5 feet 10 inches, and medium for people over 5 feet 10 inches. The bikes also come with all the necessary equipment: helmet, carrier bags, mini pump, locks, alarms, multi tool, spare inner tubeĀ  tyre lever, puncture repair kit, high viz jackets and bike covers.

The bike loans will be allocated by the Committee who will review the application forms. The loan period will be up to 4 weeks initially. Loan forms have been emailed to members but need to be physically submitted (no electronic submissions will be accepted). Loanees will be responsible for any loss or damage to the bikes whilst in their possession so insurance cover is encouraged.

A scheme is to be put into place to service, check, and ensure the bikes are well maintained.

A lot of work and research (carried out mainly by our Treasurer, Bob Stather) has gone in to the preparation and submission of the grant. The aim the loan scheme is to provide more active healthier pursuits for members and to encourage transition towards less polluting means of transport.
