The Kelso Mens Shed held its Annual General Meeting on 11th June. The following is a summary of the Chairman’s Report:

First of all I would like to thank the members for their support over the last 12 months. We have been building on the past and bringing new projects into the Shed:

We now have a new Laser Engraver and Cutter as well as a large fish tank following the popularity of the initial tropical tank with the members;

An award of a grant has enabled the purchase of 4 E Bikes available to members to hire for free;

A new Machine Shop has been created for Metalworking projects;

The Stickmakers are going from strength to strength and doing well in completions  throughout Scotland and Northern England, winning several events;

The model railway project is progressing with additional landscaping around the track;

A Wednesday Ladies group has been set up offering a place to gather socially for bingo refreshments and chat;

Thursday afternoons provide card making classes which are well attended;

A DIY picture framing facility is now available providing instruction for members who want to learn how to make a frame. Framing however, is not done to order.

Thursday evening opening was trailed for working members but discontinued due to low usage, future trails however will not be ruled out.

Membership and usage are growing steadily. we have good facilities and encourage people to join (it is still free) .and try out an activity or hobby they may not be able to do at home.

Thank you for your contribution to what has been a positive year for the Shed.

John Bassett
